ICT Competency Training: Bridging the Digital Divide for Students - Rotary Club of Boudha

Rotary Club of Boudha in Nepal invitation

The Rotary Club of Boudha continue to work with Rotary Elgin on their Water & Sanitation projects and have shared details of another project where they are seeking support. If it's of interest to your Club then please contact directly on sanubhai@hotmail.com

The ICT Competency Training program is designed to support students who have completed high school in government or community schools but never had the opportunity to learn computer and media-related practical skills. The primary objective of this training is to bridge the digital gap as they transition to college or university, where using technology for assignments and reports is essential. For many of these students, navigating digital tools can be a significant challenge. This program equips them with the necessary skills to succeed in their higher education and also enhances their employability—allowing them to work while studying or after graduation.

The Rotary Club of Boudha, in collaboration with the implementing organization Student Project Nepal, Computer Institute, is leading this initiative. The institute has already provided ICT training to over 5,000 underprivileged students with the support of donors and volunteers. The plan also includes ICT training for teachers, helping them integrate technology into their teaching methods to enhance both learning and instruction.

The Charter President of the Rotary Club of Boudha, Rtn. Chhongba Sherpa has been actively involved in this project for over 23 years and brings extensive experience in supporting both students and educators. Rotary clubs and international partners interested in promoting ICT literacy are invited to collaborate with the Rotary Club of Boudha in expanding this impactful program.

Thank you, Best Regards, Chhongba Sherpa
